Vietnam - Holga

It has taken me a little while but I have the results from film I shot with my Holga, whilst in Vietnam last month.
It's developed and scanned and I am very happy with the results.
Above are a couple of my favourite shots.
I was using ASA 200 speed 35mm film. At 36 exposures per roll, I used one and a half rolls.

INBA NSW Championships

As the official photographer I shot the INBA (International Natural Bodybuilding Association) NSW State Championships.
The show was very well attended with over 80 competitors. Classes included bodybuilding, figure and sports model.
All competitors will receive a CD containing their images from the show.

Vietnam Photography Tour

I have just returned from a tour of several cities within South Vietnam.
My focus during the trip was photographing people and places.
I intend to use several of the images for my portfolio, as I extend my skills into different areas.
Above are a couple of shots of me doing my thing.

Neutral Density Filters

Just picked up some new neutral density filters.
I got an ND2, ND4 and ND8.
I took them out in the city for some night exposures.

The shot above was taken using the ND8, which is rated at a 12.5% transmittance.
Creating a f-stop reduction of 3 stops.
The exposure was f/22 @ 30seconds, ISO100, 40mm focal length.

The shot above was taken using the ND2, which is rated at a 50% transmittance.
Creating a f-stop reduction of 1 stop.
In reality I didn't really need it for this shot but still used it.
The exposure was f/11 @ 10seconds, ISO100, 59mm focal length.

Holga - Test Run

Shot a quick test run with the Holga. Wanted to see the results before my trip to Vietnam early next month.

Most shots came out pretty well. I need to work on the cropping due to view through the view finder vs that through the lens.

These are straight scans of the negatives, not touch ups. Don't really want to play with them anyway.

All were shot at the cameras f/11 setting whether it is that or not is up for debate. Shutter is said to be 1/100s and I was using ISO160 film.

I took a few in less than ideal lighting and as expected they were underexposed.

Focus is also an issue to contend with, some shots are quite sharp and others soft. All in all not bad for a test run.

SkyView Observation Wheel

The largest relocatable tourist attraction in Australia, is now in Darling Harbour.
The SkyView Wheel stands 15 storeys high and holds 36 luxury air-conditioned gondolas, offering outstanding views of Sydney city and Darling Harbour.

Shot at 7pm. Exposure: 8 seconds @ f/22.

Sydney FC vs Blackburn

As part of the Sydney's Festival of Football, Sydney FC played the UK's Blackburn Rovers.

I was field side shooting images to accompany the gym training shots I took of the Sydney FC players back in June.

Impact FC - The Uprising

Shot the Impact FC Uprising, Mixed Martial Arts Championships, held at the Sydney convention center. The card featured some huge names including former UFC, Pride and MMA legends.

Luke Schembri

I spent two days this weeks shooting top IFBB Amateur Bodybuilder Luke Schembri, as he prepares to compete at the Country Classic Invitational in Bendigo. Luke is just over 3 weeks out and is in incredible condition. He will be very hard to beat come August the 7th.

My images will be used for promotions by Luke's sponsor Max's Supplements (www.maxs.com.au)

Blue Mountains

Ivan Sadek
